A Preview of Coming Attractions
By David & Martha Cox 05/08/2010It’s another weekend, and once again, I’m on the road–where blogging becomes a little more difficult. So rather than blog about a particular recipe while I’m away from my kitchen, I decided to post a sort of “meta-blog-post” about some of the things you can expect to see on this website in the near future.
- My yeast roll recipe. Some time back, I tried to find a yeast roll recipe that would rival the rolls served at Texas Roadhouse. Well, I believe I’ve found it. After comparing notes with other folks on the internet, and tweaking some rather generic roll recipes, I’ve come up with one that I believe tastes every bit as good as what they serve up at Texas Roadhouse, and it takes only about an hour or less from start to finish. Look for it soon.
- A recipe for the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Back in January I found a pancake recipe in an Irish cookbook. After a little bit of tweaking, I believe this recipe produces the very best pancakes I’ve ever tasted. You won’t want to miss it.
- Asparagus recipes. Believe it or not, I like asparagus. Asparagus is in season right now, so it’s much more affordable. When properly boiled and served, it tastes great, and is good for you as well. Look for some recipes utilizing it in the near future.
- The rest of my root beer experiment. I want to make a few adjustments to my root beer recipe before I post it, but when it’s ready, I guarantee it’ll be absolutely amazing.
- And more. Right now there are more than a dozen recipe ideas sitting in my draft file, and there will be more after that. In the near future, we want to post a series of Asian recipes; delve deeper into Mexican cuisine, and dig up some new ways to produce restaurant-quality food in your own kitchen. That’s why we hope you’ll keep coming back again and again. I guarantee you’ll find new recipes you won’t want to miss.
In addition to all of this, I’m also working on a free ebook containing cooking tips and recipes you won’t find here on the website. Things are moving here at Cook on a Shoestring, and we hope you’ll stick around to be a part of it. You can get our blog articles emailed to you directly simply by filling out the subscription form on the top-right-hand portion of this page. That way you’ll be notified whenever we post something new here.
You can also become our fan on Facebook, and connect with other people who are interested in cooking as well.
Either way, we’re glad you’re checking out our website, and Martha and I both hope you’ll return for more useful information.
