10 Minutes or Less: Cinnamon Toast
By David & Martha Cox 03/10/2010This recipe is part of our 10 Minutes or Less series.
Not long ago we told you about Cinnamon-Raisin Oatmeal as a healthy breakfast you could throw together in 10 minutes or less. But most people can only eat oatmeal for so many days before they start wanting something different. Is there another breakfast recipe that you can prepare and enjoy in 10 minutes or less? There is.
OK, maybe it doesn’t rank real high on the list of “Healthy Foods,” but cinnamon toast is a quick way you can get your homemade breakfast in on a shoestring without feeling hungry in a couple of hours. As we’ve said before, cinnamon serves as an appetite-suppressant, and will help you fight the urge to snack before lunchtime.
Ingredients:
- Bread (as many slices as you want or have time to toast)
- Butter/Margarine
- Cinnamon
- Sugar (optional)
The Process:
- Toast the bread.
- When the bread is toasted, butter it while it’s still hot; this will help the butter melt evenly across the toast.
- Sprinkle a glaze of cinnamon and sugar to taste.
- Enjoy!
Adding a little fresh fruit to this breakfast is a nice way to dress it up without costing you much time.
Cinnamon toast usually falls under the category of “breakfast food,” but the truth is it’s good anytime of day also.
